We've had a really busy month so far and now it's almost over! The SCAA Event was great! Got about 225 pounds of coffee roasted for their Cupping Workshops. Phew.... And Bryan and I got to cup some very nice Ethiopian coffees from Boot Coffee / Ethiopian Fine Coffees, which was very interesting not to mention tasty! It was nice to see and meet some folks that normally I only email or talk to on the phone: Our suppliers at Cafe Imports and Invalsa Coffee, and the guys at US Roasters. And got some good information from potential new suppliers and the folks at FairTrade. And stay tuned for some new smoothie flavors which I got to try. Perhaps Butternut Squash & Mango (really, it is GOOD!) or Carrot-Orange... Or both!
But what about the COFFEE??? Well we've been trying out some new ones lately: Mexican Chiapas and Burundi. The Mexican does well at a lighter roast with a nice tangy twist. And the Burundi seems to like a medium-dark roast with a full-bodied, earthy spiciness. Try them next time you see them here as the coffee of the day!
I got the planters on Riverside Ave planted with pansies and petunias! Finally it is Spring! Love the flowers!
